Xero is an online accounting package that simplifies your day to day accounting.
The best known Xero product is Xero Business. With direct feeds from your bank accounts and repeating invoices, bills and journals you can automate much of the tedious tasks related to keeping your books in order. We use it ourselves in our own businesses and love it. Xero Business starts from $27.50 a month (excluding GST). But if you have more than 5 bills, invoices or bank account transactions a month you'll need Xero Standard $55.00 a month (excluding GST).
For a long time I wondered why anyone would pay that much, every month for an accounting packing. I had already paid thousands for licences for MYOB and Quickbooks why would I pay more? Then they wanted many hundreds more for "major version upgrades" and I started to getting annoyed so I went looking at alternatives and trialled Xero and thought "yeah it's really pretty good but it's not really saving me any time". Then I linked the bank accounts and it all became clear. I was converted. Xero Business is fantastic.

Less well know Xero products only available through Xero Partners (like us) are:
- Xero GST Cashbook - a simple version of Xero for small businesses that don't need invoicing but do need to do GST returns .
- Xero Cashbook - a further simplified version of Xero for those that aren't registered for GST and don't need to do GST returns. Xero Cashbook is particularly good for investors wanting to keep track of their finances, particularly Trusts.
